The game between closely ranked teams ended with SerbianSpartak 's road victory over Portuguese Benfica in Lisbon 90-74 on Wednesday. Spartak looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Montenegrin point guard Igor Drobnjak (188-2000) notched 19 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and Jamaican center Shevon Thompson (213-1993, college: GMU) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Geno Crandall (191-1996, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for Benfica . His fellow American import forward Justice Sueing (198-1999, college: Ohio St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
